Kepler
Forward Deployed Engineer
Why it's interesting
The Palantir Foundry core team — the people who built Ontology, Fusion, and Workshop — left to sell the FDE motion back to finance, and they're paying $200K–$280K employer-provided for it. The bet: the model is the commodity, the verifiable 'trust layer' harness is the product. If it's right, this is the highest-leverage seat on the board.
The role
Embed with sophisticated financial firms ($10B+ AUM) to deploy, customize, and extend Kepler — an 'agent harness' that wraps LLMs in deterministic pipelines so every number traces back to source. Full-stack (Python/TypeScript, Rust backend), 30–50% travel from NYC HQ. Founding team spent 40+ years at Palantir building Foundry's core systems; CEO was Citadel's first Head of Business Engineering. Backed by founders of OpenAI, Meta AI, dbt Labs, and Square. Employer-provided band, verified live on Kepler's own careers site.
