Machina Labs
Forward Deployed Engineer
Why it's interesting
Literally boots-on-the-ground: embed at a customer factory in Dayton to run Machina’s RoboCraftsman robotic sheet-metal-forming cells, tune RoboForming parameters, and debug hardware in production. An FDE role where the ‘deployment’ is a seven-axis robot bending metal, not a SaaS integration — for engineers who want the physical edge of applied AI.
The role
Forward deployed engineer (‘boots on the ground’) at Machina Labs, embedded at customer sites to keep RoboCraftsman robotic sheet-metal-forming cells performing as designed. Oversee day-to-day cell operation and production output, support customer operators and technicians, act as the primary technical bridge to Machina’s Product, Software, Manufacturing and Robotic Process Engineering teams, and analyze RoboForming process data to optimize forming parameters. Starts with immersive training at Machina HQ, then a long-term on-site assignment in Ohio. Comp not disclosed. Verified on Machina Labs’ careers site (apply via [email protected]).
