Our take
Why Intercom
Fin is a top-tier production agent, but you'd be joining a company mid-sale to Salesforce — great resume line, uncertain org chart.

A good fit if you're…
- Engineers who want to tune a high-volume agent at real scale
- Europe-based candidates (Dublin/London) seeking a strong FDE seat
- People comfortable with post-acquisition integration risk
What they do
Intercom — which renamed itself Fin in 2026 — builds the Fin AI agent for customer support across chat, email, voice and messaging, sold on outcome-based pricing per resolution. Salesforce announced a definitive agreement in June 2026 to acquire the company for roughly $3.6B, with Fin slotting alongside Agentforce.
What “forward deployed” means here
The seat is Fin-specific: resolution-rate optimization, knowledge engineering and custom actions for enterprise customers. It is product-embedded rather than bespoke-build work — you're making one very mature agent perform inside each customer's data and workflows, and the gap between marketed and real-world resolution rates is exactly the job.
Comp & leveling
The board lists $190K–$330K TC across Dublin, London and San Francisco. Competitive, and strong by European standards. Watch the equity: once the Salesforce deal closes, private options typically convert to cash or Salesforce RSUs, so ask directly how new-hire grants are treated.
Growth signals
Fin was reported to be nearing $100M ARR in 2026 with rapid growth, and the acquisition price validates the product. The open question is what happens to the FDE function inside Salesforce, which already runs its own large FDE organization — expect integration, possible re-leveling, and a different pace after close.
