Our take
Why Salesforce
The single largest FDE hiring wave in the market — and the easiest lab-adjacent entry point, if you accept a GTM-flavored seat.
- FDE type
- GTM hybrid
- Travel
- Medium
- Comp
- Competitive
- Stage
- Public
A good fit if you're…
- Engineers who want volume of openings and a lower entry bar than the labs
- People building on a shipping enterprise agent platform (Agentforce)
- India-based candidates targeting a platform-scale delivery hub
What they do
Salesforce is the incumbent CRM platform, and Agentforce is its bet that enterprise AI agents run on top of that CRM. FDEs are the mechanism for landing Agentforce inside customer orgs — configuring, integrating, and shipping agents against real business processes.
What “forward deployed” means here
More GTM-hybrid than pure forward-deployed: the work is real customer-embedded delivery, but it sits inside a mature sales-and-services motion rather than a frontier research seam. That makes it a lower-risk, more structured entry into the FDE title than a founding lab seat.
Comp & leveling
US Agentforce FDE seats show $200K–$330K TC — solidly competitive but below frontier-lab bands, reflecting a public-company pay structure. The Hyderabad/Bangalore seats are undisclosed and priced to local market, not SF.
Growth signals
Salesforce publicly committed to hiring 1,000 FDEs — the largest single FDE wave anywhere — and is already standing up offshore Agentforce seats in India. That scale is the opportunity and the caveat: the title is being industrialized here, not invented.
