Forward Deployed Engineer, Federal

Why it's interesting

Rare FDE seat where the deployment site is a military installation and the product is a mobile carrier's own network core — Cape (privacy-first carrier, Series C closed March 2026) wants an FDE to embed with federal customers, write production glue against live cellular infrastructure, and turn pilots into programs of record. The $175K–$235K band is honest for a role that also demands a TS clearance and a flag-officer-to-git-ticket communication range; it's Anduril/Palantir deployment work without the household name.

The role

Forward Deployed Engineer on Cape's Federal team. Cape is America's privacy-first mobile carrier (built its own network from scratch; Series C March 2026), and FDEs embed with federal and national-security customers to deploy Cape's mobile core, write production-grade integrations in the field, troubleshoot live production networks, and push field-driven fixes into the roadmap. NYC or Arlington VA base, up to 50% travel. Requires US citizenship and eligibility for a TS clearance (active TS strongly preferred). Comp $175K–$235K plus equity. Verified live on Cape's Ashby board.
